Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-20
Short version: the DNS lookups you run here are sent by your browser to a public DNS resolver. We do not run a server that receives them, and we do not store them. The only cookies and identifiers on this site come from advertising and the consent banner, described below.
What happens when you run a lookup
The tools run in your browser. When you check a domain, your browser sends the DNS question over HTTPS (DNS-over-HTTPS, DoH) straight to a resolver. The resolver is named on the result screen. Domain-registration lookups (RDAP) go through rdap.org, a public redirector that sends your browser on to the registry responsible for that domain, so both rdap.org and that registry see the request.
The domain you typed is kept in the URL fragment (the part after #, for example #d=example.com). Browsers do not send the fragment to any server, so it does not appear in server logs, in the Referer header, or in the page address that advertising scripts receive. Anyone who has the full link, or your browser history, can still see it.
Email headers or bounce messages that you paste into a tool are processed in your browser. They are never uploaded. Only DNS names found in them may be looked up, and those lookups go to the resolvers listed below.
We have no accounts, no database, and no server-side logs of queries. Our code does not store your queries in cookies or local storage.
DNS resolvers that may receive your queries
Each resolver is run by a third party and has its own privacy policy. Which ones see a query depends on the tool and the resolver you choose; the propagation checker asks several at once.

- Google 8.8.8.8 — Google Public DNS privacy

Hosting
The site is static files served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare, as the host, processes visitor IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and protect the site. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- How Google uses data from sites that use its services: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Ads are never placed inside tool results. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, ads and related cookies load only after you give consent through a consent management platform certified by Google. You can change that choice later through the same banner.
Affiliate links
When a check fails, a page may suggest a service, such as a DMARC monitoring tool or a registrar. Those links are labelled “sponsored”. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission.
Your rights and contact
Because we do not store personal data about your lookups, there is usually nothing to delete or export. If you are in a jurisdiction with data-protection rights and want to ask about your data, or about this policy, contact us: contact@dnsverdict.com
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
